Christmas 1994 in Yellowstone: Jackson Hole

December 23, 1994, Friday

Penny went off to try the ski slopes at Jackson Hole. The four of us called up a local outfitter and managed to find two available snowmobiles.
The fearsome thing about this outfitter is that they rented the four of us two snowmobiles, four helmets, a Ford Bronco and a trailer, and gave us a map showing us where to go and set us free!

Somehow, I managed to drive the Bronco and trailer to the kick-off point, AND we managed to get the snowmobiles safely off the trailer. Considering that none of us had ever been on a snowmobile, it's a near miracle to see Judy zipping around like this!

The four of us quickly adapted to the snowmobiles. It was a perfect day -- blue sky, sunshine, snow everywhere. The snowmobile trail led along a creek, and had enough other snowmobile groups with an actual trained experience guide along that we didn't feel too nervous.
