Afterwards, Manuel piloted us around the rocks to see the Blue-Footed Boobies, which at first I thought was a joke, but they are a very rare
(and very blue-footed) bird that is only found here, Galapagos Islands, and maybe a few other places on the same latitude, and
very near extinction.

 There's
a blue-footed booby here, but you can't see him unless you
look very closely. |
 You
can see the site where they filmed "Night of the Iguana" eons
ago. |
 I
don't know what happened to the camera, but this is a
sign indicating that this is the site of filming
Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie "Predator" -- the jungle
scenes. |

We came ashore,
and I wanted to tip both Manuel and Lutz, but all I had were those
two extra 200-peso notes. I felt that
was a good tip for them, and gave them each a 200-peso bill. About that time, Klaus is asking if we want to buy any t-shirts, and I said,
realizing this, that I had absolutely no money left. Dawn asks me about it, and I tell her, seriously, we don't have any money left, I
don't know how we're getting back to our hotel. Klaus overhears and talks to Lutz about it in German and Lutz comes over and gives me
a 10-peso coin for bus fare! So we stood out at the bus stop, as the sun went down, with all the rest of the
local townfolk waiting for the bus.
We return to the hotel in time for the 9:00pm Karaoke, which Dawn had sworn to sing in. Although I plied her with tequila, she
still wouldn't do it. Oh well.
We were both completely exhausted by our day
-- golf and scuba all in one day! -- and collapsed soon after.
