We arrived in Puerto Vallarta after a fairly uneventful flight, and checked into our room at the Blue Bay Getaway by 2:30 pm. Our room was terrific, and I loved the view.

The 'sunning' pool and its swim-up bar are shown here, and in the background you can see the strange huge never-completed hotel -- I never found out the story on that one -- that stood next door to ours.	A view of the main pool.  To the left is the dining area where we had most of our buffet-style meals.  Our beach area is beyond.
	Our room -- pleasant!  The best part was having a solid glass wall with large sliding doors which we kept open every night, so we could hear the surf and feel the breeze.

After unpacking, we met with David Garcia, our local rep from Apple Vacations, to learn all about the various resort activities and events.

> We took a quick swim in one of the pools, Dawn had her first free drink of the stay (although in spite of her claims to the contrary, I don't think she ever really achieved and maintained that 'pleasant state of intoxication' that she swore she intended for the trip!), and we met Cindy, a New York 'sister', and chatted a bit.

After enjoying the buffet dinner and hanging out, we went to bed.
