This is a series of transitions that I actually controlled manually... per cues from the stage manager. When you see
this, it just transitions automatically, but in production, this cued up and 'froze' at various points. First, I'd hold
at the initial "factory" background artwork. Then, at just the right moment in Emma (Leigh Ann Rector, one of my favorite
people in the theatre world!) Goldman's inspiring speech, as she says "I saw the Statue of Liberty appearing out of the mist",
if our cues were working just right (and we hit our mark on this one almost every night), the Statue would materialize in the
background in sequence. Then, at a further cue in the dialogue, I'd transition to "half statue, half flag" which was
a very inspiring sight. Then, the slideshow transitioned to full flag which remained as a backdrop until the end of the
first act.
